Why subscribe?

This is where you can get all the latest updates on what I’m up to, from supper clubs to live events and more.

Join the Cooking the Books community

Join a community of people who share your interests, and meet up in real life at my supper clubs or live events. Or just chat about food, books, food memories and all that matters in the world…

I post twice a week - How to Cook a Book goes out on Monday evenings with insights from my authors on my Cooking the Books podcast, my How to Cook a Book writing retreats and anything else writerly. Extra Bites gives listeners to the podcast just a little bit more from the guests each week. And it’s all free!

Paid subscribers get the up close and personal stuff for £5 per month (£40 pa). You’ll get monthly round ups of the most interesting insights I’ve pulled from my regular food writing retreats in a monthly post.

And in a new monthly Second Helpings Zoom only for paid subscribers, you get a chance to chat to my CTB guests about any of the themes that might have got you thinking. Giulia Scarpaleggia is first up on Monday November 13th at 7pm UK time to talk about Cucina Povera. Gurd Loyal will be talking about Mother Tongue on December 11th at 7pm. This is your front row seat to some of the best food writers of our time for just £5!

Paid subscribers can also use a special Chat to meet each other in a space brimming with love for food, food books and food writing. Glorious!

Founder members get an hour-long one-on-one on anything you want to talk about - food, writing, podcasting, how to be a journalist in a media which no longer pays for content… And with the rest of the paid subscriber benefits, that’s £100 amazingly well-spent!

A paid subscription is an opportunity to support all my work. I don’t earn a bean from my podcast (although it’s a great business card) so here’s a way to keep it all going. I hope in return you’ll join in, come to the Zooms, Chat with my gang and cook up your dreams.
